Frequently Asked Questions
A) Am I still your patient or do I have to re-register?
If you were my patient at Manitoba clinic, you continue to be my patient at Oya Medical Centre until you decide otherwise. I greatly enjoy and appreciate my practice and patients, and would be honoured if you followed me. I am NOT offended if you move to another provider, after all, I moved clinics and understand the need to move if required.
B) What happens to my medical records?
They are being kept safe by Manitoba Clinic. If you would like access to them, you can contact Manitoba Clinic by phone (204) 774-6541
or in person at 790 Sherbrook Street to get a copy of your records. Manitoba Clinic will likely charge a fee for a copy of your records to cover a small portion of the cost of paying an employee to print (and Canada Post mail) them.
C) Do I have to transfer my records to Oya Medical Clinic to continue seeing Dr. Grauman?
You do not need to transfer your records to Oya Medical Clinic to continue your enrolment with Dr. Grauman or to continue receiving care.
D) Do you recommend I transfer my medical records to Oya Medical Clinic?
Dr. Grauman does not recommend that you transfer your records to Oya Medical Clinic as this is generally unnecessary to maintain your care.
E) What do I need to do if I no longer wish to be Dr. Grauman’s patient?
You do not need to inform Dr. Grauman or Oya Medical Centre. You only need to do what is right for you and to find the new primary care provider of your choice. The province has set up the Family Doctor Finder program (https://www.gov.mb.ca/health/familydoctorfinder/) for this purpose. Dr. Grauman recommends you call practices with acceptable hours close to your home, school, or place of work and set up a meet and greet, and/or register with Family Doctor Finder. You may also see if providers caring for family members (or friends) may be willing to accept you as a patient. Dr. Grauman will continue to maintain you as a patient until you move your registration to a new home clinic.
F) Is Dr. Grauman accepting new patients?
Yes.
G) Will Dr. Grauman continue providing IV Iron services?
Yes. After a brief delay (to secure new suppliers and hire new staff), Dr. Grauman will resume services. If you cannot or do not wish to wait, Dr. Grauman recommends contacting Manitoba Clinic, Winnipeg Clinic, Coverdale, Innomar, Bayshore for IV iron services. Writing your MLA, Manitoba Health, or candidate(s) in the provincial election requesting proper support for community outaptient IV iron services is also recommended, as Dr. Grauman’s move highlights the vulnerability of this service to the loss of just one provider.
